Community

No one should go through life alone.

We hope every member of RiverOaks feels known, accepted and loved. We want you to feel like you would be missed if you were gone.

To help our members develop that sense of connectedness, we have several community groups that meet for spiritual and social refreshment. Some of our groups focus on spiritual discussions, others feel more like parties. These groups meet at various times during the week.

We encourage you to try any or all of them to see which one will work best for you. Here is a list:

101st Community Group

The 101st Community group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 6-8 p.m, alternating at the home of Joe and Laura Newhouse and Jason and Kizzy Webb. We eat great food, have fire pits if the weather is nice, and a time of prayer requests and prayer. We enjoy deepening our friendships in The Lord and supporting each other. 81st and Yale

Hosted by Todd and Christine Talbot, 81st & Yale Community Group meets at 7pm on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. We fellowship and enjoy food & drink at each meeting, have a casual discussion about recent sermons, and are involved in various mercy ministries. Borders

We are a group that runs the spectrum of ages from 20+ to 60ish, who enjoy hearing the grace perspectives of the diverse individuals in our group. We celebrate the joy of our faith while we eat dinner together and discuss the sermon. We are committed to the gospel and its work in our lives and in our service to each other, our church and our community. Join us the first and third Wednesdays at the McFarland house. Broken Arrow

Brookside

Led by Taylor and Kacey Gilpin and Shane and Shari Hatfield, Brookside CG meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the home of Taylor and Kacey Gilpin. They spend their time eating and drinking together, discussing the sermon or selected passages from scripture, and praying together. Downtown 20’s

The Downtown20s community group aims at fostering fellowship for both singles and couples in their 20s. We meet the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 7:30pm. For more information, contact the Herouxs at jordan.heroux@gmail.com!

Jeremiah 24

Led by Greg and Laura Marino, and Bruce and Jan Berman meets Sunday evenings. This  community group has all ages attending. Contact Bruce Berman at bermans111@gmail.com for any additional information.

Mid-town

The Mid-Town CG is hosted by Nathan and Katie Parker. They meet every other Thursday at 6:30pm, for snacks, desserts, drinks, and fellowship. All are welcome. Contact the Parkers at ktlynnpark@gmail.com for more information about the group or childcare.

South Tulsa

Led by Isai (EZ) and Jodi Mireles and Jeremy and Maria DeLay, the South Tulsa CG will meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at the Mireles' house. We will eat and drink together, as well as have a short sermon discussion and prayer. The goal is to build real and lasting relationships with each other. Youth Group Parents

The Youth Group Parents CG meets twice a month during Jr & Sr High Youth Group. This  winter/spring, we will discuss Paul Tripp's book Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens. For information, contact David or Jennifer Hall tulsahalls@cox.net.

Young Professionals

The Young Professionals area community group geared toward young adults both single and married, anywhere from college age to early 30s. The group is led by Jon Maust and Ben Thomas, and meets at Ben’s house on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 7pm. There is fellowship, food, drinks, pool, ping pong, and other fun stuff.
