Meet Raul Bermudez
Raul Bermudez was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Fort Worth Texas.
After High School, he joined the Marines. While serving, the Lord called him into the ministry. After his service, he attended Southwestern AG University, and Regent Seminary. He is ordained in the Southern Baptist Church and has served the church for over ten years. He has served as a missionary providing theological education to Cuban pastors and leaders. He has worked with diverse organizations in developing Hispanic church leaders in the U.S. and internationally for the past 10 years. His experiences also include: serving as an Adjunct Professor in various seminaries, speaking on Latin missions at various conferences, Hispanic theological education, planting a church, being a senior pastor, and teaching as an undergraduate professor.
Raul met his wife Yadelin while on a mission trip to train pastors in Cuba. She has moved to Tulsa, and loves sharing the ministry with him. They have three children Yaidrelis, Samuel and Vasti. Their family is a mix of Cuban, Puerto Rican and good old fashioned American.
God has given Raul and Yadelin a great heart for the Hispanic people of Tulsa. He explains “the Reformation never reached Spain, or any Spanish speaking countries.” He prays to see the Hispanic Church reformed with the Gospel of God’s Grace.
RiverOaks Presbyterian Church has called Raul to be our church-planting apprentice. He will serve full time on our staff learning the Presbyterian Church from the inside. We will transfer his ordination credentials to the North Texas Presbytery, help him build friendships within the denomination and train him to plant a church.
At the end of his apprenticeship, Raul and Yadelin will plant a Hispanic church in the heart of Tulsa’s most concentrated Hispanic area.
