Women's Ministy

About the Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry is guided by The Women’s Care Team, which is made up of eight women from RiverOaks, along with two coordinators who shepherd the women of RiverOaks. This team of women work to ensure that all women at RiverOaks are loved and supported within the church. They enjoy and encourage women of all ages through activities, events, discipleship and Bible Study; but most of all through friendship. The Women's Ministry provides the support, acceptance and needed resources each woman needs to develop a deeper walk with Jesus. We want all women at RiverOaks to feel loved and accepted as they grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

CHARMAINE ROBBINS

WOMEN'S MINISTRY COORDINATOR

As Women’s Ministry Coordinator, Charmaine helps to build up and nurture the women of RiverOaks by providing opportunities for all the women to find rest and spiritual growth in light of the Gospel. This is accomplished through meaningful conversations, Bible Studies, Women’s Events, The Daily Bible Recap, and prayer throughout the year. She has a heart for volunteerism and service. She has volunteered as a CASA in Tulsa for 10 years, working with children in the Foster Care System, Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless, and co-leading the Southern Africans in Oklahoma for the past 17 years. Charmaine enjoys spending time with husband Joel, their four adult children, their adopted family with three grandchildren whom they adore, traveling, reading, entertaining, and going to the beach.

CHERYL OWENS

WOMEN'S ASSIMILATION COORDINATOR

As Women’s Assimilation Coordinator, Cheryl wants all women to feel welcome and cared for as they attend RiverOaks. She assists Charmaine in providing opportunities of friendship, support, and growth in Jesus Christ for each woman. Cheryl has been active in teaching Women's Bible Studies at RiverOaks for ten years. She has taught children, youth, as well as adults throughout the years. She believes that a grounding in the Word is essential to experience personal growth in Christ.  Cheryl is an avid reader of the scriptures. Cheryl has been married to her husband Paul for over 40 years. They have three adult sons, three wonderful daughters in law, and eight amazing grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and seeing old friends as well as exploring new places. Seeing beautiful scenery and wildlife always reminds them of how great God is and seeing his reflection in its beauty.
